For those of us who grew up in a small rural community, there is an underlying comaraderie of knowing that we all have something in common. It is a feeling that we like to keep close to our hearts and when we hear things about our hometowns, the feeling stirs and repositions itself in our hearts and minds in the shape of a ticket home. All of us know that our feelings about our rural hometown far exceed what our metropolitan friends have.
But for those of us who do remain in rural communities, we know that far too often our best and brightest leave town for college and never return. We also know that if our communities are to have any hope of a thriving , successful future, we need to attract our young people and encourage those that have left to return. With this in mind, several young adults were asked to why they have chosen to return and live in Minden.
