City Council
Minden City Boards and Committees
The Minden City Council oversees a variety of other boards and committee positions. Most members are appointed by the Mayor with the confirmation of the City Council. Please call or e-mail the city office manager at 308.832.1820 to contact any one of the board chairman. The City Council meets on the first and third Mondays every month at 6 p.m. in the City Chambers. The various boards and committees include:

Kearney County
Kearney County is one of the 93 counties located in the great state of Nebraska. Kearney County was formed in 1850. It was named after Fort Kearny, which in turn was named after Brigade General Stephen W. Kearny. Minden, the county seat of Kearney County, boasts the county courthouse that sits proudly in the center of Minden’s downtown square. As of 2002, the county’s population was 6,629. The county boasts three school districts; Axtell Community School, Axtell, Minden Public Schools, Minden and Wilcox-Hildreth Public Schools, Wilcox.
In the Nebraska license plate system, Kearney County is represented by the prefix 52 which means that Kearney County had the fifty-second-largest number of vehicles registered in the county when the license plate system was established in 1922.
