[ARCHIVED] Customer Service lines to be connected on Palmer, Colorado, and Minden starting March 15th

The construction of improvements to the City’s water distribution system has resumed. Beginning Tuesday, March 15th, Rutjens Construction will begin connecting individual water service lines to the new water mains in the areas of:
• PALMER STREET from Brown Avenue to Colorado Avenue
• COLORADO AVENUE from Palmer Street to Holland Street
• MINDEN AVENUE from Holland Street to Third Street

Individual customer water lines will be shut off for a short time (30 mins to 2 hours) during the connection to the new water main throughout the upcoming weeks. Construction updates will be made on the City’s website, the City’s facebook page and door hangers will be hung at homes with anticipated water outages.

Please note that both the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and the City of Minden require that any pipe, pipe fitting, solder, or flux used in the installation or repair of any residential or nonresidential facility which is connected to the public water system BE LEAD FREE. Both Rutjens and the City will not be able to reconnect the line to your home or business if it is a lead line and will require that it be replaced.

The City of Minden appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding. Please contact City Hall with any questions or concerns at (308) 832-1820.
