(NE RADIO NETWORK) Nebraska’s unemployment rate remains the second lowest in the nation. Nebraska Commissioner of Labor Catherine Lang says after a slight revision from January’s unemployment rate, the numbers remain the same.
“That preliminary rate is at 4.3% for the state of Nebraska. We also made a slight modification to the rate from January. It had been 4.2. It has been revised to 4.3.”
Lang tells us when they break down regions to determine unemployment numbers they are not seasonally adjusted so they are looking at the base data in which they get their rate. That is why during certain times of the year they can be very different that what the state rate shows. Numbers for Nebraska’s largest city remained basically the same.
