Projected Water Project Construction beginning June 8, 2016
Connecting individual water service lines to the new water mains in the areas of:
• BROWN AVENUE from Hawthorne Street to Second Street
Individual customer water lines will be shut off for a short time (30 mins to 2 hours) during the connection to the new water main throughout the upcoming weeks. Periodic but limited water discoloration may occur during reconnects.
Construction updates will be made on the City’s website, the City’s Facebook page and door hangers will be hung at homes with anticipated water outages.
Please note that both the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and the City of Minden require that any pipe, pipe fitting, solder, or flux used in the installation or repair of any residential or nonresidential facility which is connected to the public water system BE LEAD FREE. Both Rutjens and the City will not be able to reconnect the line to your home or business if it is a lead line and will require that it be replaced.
After a customer’s service line has been connected to the new water main, the area will be graded and seeded. Door hangers will be placed after the seeding has been completed with water instructions.
The City of Minden appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding. Please contact City Hall with any questions or concerns at (308) 832-1820.
