Residential Sanitation Dumpsters Policy

Regulations

Residential sanitation dumpsters are available by request only and may be used only under the following regulations:

• Effective October 1, 2024, the City of Minden changed its policy regarding the use of one, two, four and six-yard dumpsters by residential customers. The current policy is that residential customers may request the usage of a one, two, four or six-yard yard dumpsters and be charged a fee per dump collection.
  • A one-yard dumpster shall have a rental rate of $25 per week, which includes one emptying of the dumpster. The resident will be charged $25 each time an additional emptying of the dumpster is requested in a week.
  • A two-yard dumpster shall have a rental rate of $50 per week, which includes one emptying of the dumpster. The resident will be charged $50 each time an additional emptying of the dumpster is requested in a week.
  • A four-yard dumpster shall have a rental rate of $90 per week, which includes one emptying of the dumpster. The resident will be charged $90 each time an additional emptying of the dumpster is requested in a week.
  • A six-yard dumpster shall have a rental rate of $140 per week, which includes one emptying of the dumpster. The resident will be charged $140 each time an additional emptying of the dumpster is requested in a week.
• The weekly rental fee will begin the day the resident receives the dumpster. The resident is responsible for notifying the City of Minden offices to pick up the dumpster by 12:00 pm on the seventh day of having the dumpster, otherwise another weekly rental fee will be assessed to the resident. For example, if a dumpster is delivered to Joe and Jane Public on Friday, April 9, Joe or Jane must notify the offices by 12:00 pm on Thursday, April 15 to avoid another weekly dumpster rental fee. If the seventh day of the dumpster rental falls on a holiday or weekend, then the city offices must be notified by 9:00 am on the next working day.

Note: The resident is responsible for notifying the offices when a dumpster needs emptied. Please allow the City of Minden employees 24 hours to empty the dumpster.
